The Pine Savanna
On my many trips from NJ to Florida as a child, I always enjoyed watching the landscape change as we drove through the states to our final destination. One of the most fascinating looking environments is the Long Leaf Pine Savannas that stretch from the Carolinas down to Florida and West to Texas. It’s a weird juxtaposition of pine trees and palms, home to strange pitcher plants and giant bugs.
I tried to capture some of the wonder here in TvPaint using the Multi-Plane camera rig and some Anim-Brush techniques. The layers were laid out in TvPaint and then exported to Procreate where i added details and color and the imported back into TvPaint to rig in the stage manager.
